Although they ultimately fell a few wins short of their dream of representing the NFC in Super Bowl XLVII a few seasons ago, the Seattle Seahawks and their large fan base throughout the great Northwest and beyond have ample reason to be pumped up about their chances in 2015. Led by fiery and confident head coach Pete Carroll, the Seahawks have become a team intent on not just eking out wins, but going for their opponents jugular's and sending a message throughout the entire league.
It is redundant at this point in time to mention that the Seattle Seahawks were just 1-yard away from a Super Bowl win back in February. They should have given the ball to Marshawn Lynch on second down, and they would have..... blah, blah, blah. The truth is that the excruciating experience is now in the past, and the Seahawks are once again geared to make a visit to the Super Bowl, which will go down in the 49ers home stadium.
Quarterback Russell Wilson, cornerback Richard Sherman and an abundance of other talented playmakers remain in the great Northwest heading into this year. Seattle added former New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham, which will likely be one of the most impactful moves in the off-season free-agent session once everything is said and done.
The Seahawks will begin the season with very important games at St. Louis and at Green Bay before they face the Chicago Bears at CenturyLink Field in the home opener. How they perform in these initial matchups will go a long way toward determining their overall success in 2015. A late-November home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers is also reason to circle a date on the calendar.
We need not overlook the incredible home-field advantage that the Seahawks have at CenturyLink Field. If you’ve bought Seattle Seahawks tickets and attended a game before, then you've heard and experienced the vocal pandemonium produced by the fans and echoed back and forth by the engineering and design of the venue. Opposing players simply cannot hear the important line signal calls due to the noise of the crowd, and it often leads to penalties that have a major impact on games.
